Khmer New Year is the most remarkable
and enthusiastic occasion in Cambodian tradition that people are always
yearning for. Within the whole period of Khmer New Year composes of religious
ceremonies and enjoy with popular traditional games. People prepare their homes
and presents to greet the new-year angel. They offer food and gifts to the
monks at the nearby pagodas and dedicate to their long-lost ancestors in order
for them to re-born in the better livelihood. Some people invite monks to hold
home-ceremonies to clean up every bad things of the old year and replace the
new good ones. Moreover, there are a number of entertainment activities for
both children and adult. In the monasteries, they can enjoy various games such
as Leak Kan Seng, Teanh Prot, Chaol Chhoung, Bos Ang Kunh, Chab Kon Kleng and
so on. Khmer New Year is the happiest time of the year that grabs all Cambodian
attention to remember forever. On its pages, it lists lots of my sweet
souvenirs with friends and bring me new relationships. I really miss every
minute of last years, and I am longing for the up-coming one now.
